He moved to the Portland area where he worked in the grocery business for many years. He later graduated from I.I.T.R. Trucking School in Portland and drove truck until he retired and moved to Lafayette.
He loved music, old cars, playing basketball and tennis and spending time with HIS SONS, cHRISTOPHER tHOMAS HEIDT, AND DAVID BRADLEY HEIDT. The family said he was a very gentle loving soul.
